Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.82SF

Was fighting a bit with the new config of dnscrypt-proxy-2. After 10 minutes was able to get it working. The rest works without issues NG just released a new .80 version that has unspecified "security fixes"

    R7800 IPV6 drops

In (very) recent firmware, NETGEAR only allows echo requests to be reachable for IPv6. This is how it passes IPv6 tests and gives the illusion that it complies. It does not, since there are more ICMPv6 options that need to be passed too. I wrote my own IPv6 firewall which fully complies with...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.80SF & v. 1.0.2.80.4SF & v. 1.0.2.80.5SF

I've had one case where if I enable DoS protection, the router would block one of my devices regardless of what I try to fix this. Disabling DoS protection make the problem go away. So as I said, lots of false positives to the point it's mostly worthless. Might catch 1-5% legitimate attempts but...

Not mutch. NG is famous for having many, many false positives. And it puts a strain on the router. I personally have it disabled from day 1 and never had issues thus far in the past 3 years

    Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.80SF & v. 1.0.2.80.4SF & v. 1.0.2.80.5SF

The R7800 is currently top of the class AC router NETGEAR has to offer, both for throughput and wifi coverage. I'd keep it working

    Broadcom's hardware acceleration

LAN <-> LAN is switched, not routed, so it's not affected. CTF only works on routing

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.77SF

QoS is only beneficial for slow(er) lines. The closer you get to Gbps speed, the less you should use it

Works fine here. Thanks to all ;)

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.76SF & v. 1.0.2.76.1SF

@Voxel fq-codel is already included in the firmware but there is no way to set it (/proc/sys/net/core/default_qdisc is missing). Can you turn on the kernel option to set the packet scheduler?

Time for a factory reset, I'm afraid

[R7800] Will no longer save settings after reboot.

The NVRAM is only a small, reserved part of the Flash chip where only configuration settings are stored and nothing else. ReadyShare and Traffic Meter write to other parts of the Flash chip
