I purchased a used RT-AC66U off ebay to use as an access point. It did not come with a power supply and I was good with that because I had an old one laying around. Now I have noticed that the router requires a larger size plug than the other AC66 I used to have. Did Asus use different plug sizes? I am having a hard time determining the larger size and finding a power supply online. Is there a list of plug sizes somewhere so I can figure out what I need?

    Some are listed here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coaxial_power_connector
    • Type A: 5.5 mm OD, 2.1 mm ID (with optional screw lock)
    • Type A: 5.5 mm OD, 2.5 mm ID (with optional screw lock)
    • Type B: 6.0 mm OD, 2.1 mm ID
    • Type B: 6.0 mm OD, 2.5 mm ID
    • Type C: 3.8 mm OD, 1.4 mm ID
    • Type D: 6.3 mm OD, 3.1 mm ID
    • Type E: 3.4 mm OD, 1.3 mm ID
You could buy only a plug for 1$ at aliexpress or in a local store and solder it on your cable.
Maybe one of those or search for other dimensions: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/3294...chweb0_0,searchweb201602_1,searchweb201603_52

    Here it says 2.5*0.7mm: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GBG1MDQ/?tag=snbforums-20

Thanks, 2.5*0.7mm appears to be the smaller one which is the plug I have and is found on a lot of 19v supplies online that say they are for the 66U. This plug is larger. I will just buy a bunch of ends and see what works. can't find any adapters.

I have two rt-ac66u. One with the smaller size that also fits the rt-n66u and a the larger size which is the same as the rt-ac68 and 86u.
So if you buy one for the rt-ac68u, you will be fine.
